Week 2 - Sustainable buildings in the Netherlands

Nature & Environment Learning Centre Source: https://www.archdaily.com/778961/nature-and-environment-learning-centre-bureau-sla This is a nature and environmental teaching center at Amsterdam Noord Elementary School, built by Bureau SLA. Since this is an energy efficient building, no fossil fuel assistance is required during use. I would like to introduce the sustainable design techniques included in this building. First of all, the roof of the building extends to the south to improve the utilization rate of solar panels, while the glass wall of the classroom can still bring enough heat and light to the indoor space. The concrete solar absorption wall of the school can heat the indoor air, so it dramatically reduces the utilization rate of heating in winter. Week 1.2 Zero-carbon buildings

Shanghai Expo's zero-carbon buildings                                     source: https://www.zedfactory.com/projects This building combines the climatic characteristics of the Shanghai area to create a Chinese-style sample of zero carbon communities. The building includes a zero carbon lecture hall, a zero carbon restaurant, a zero carbon showroom and six zero carbon model rooms. In terms of energy use, in addition to using solar energy, wind energy. The Zero Carbon Pavilion also uses the water source of the Huangpu River, using the water source heat pump as the natural "air conditioning" of the house. The leftovers after the meal will be degraded into biomass energy for power generation. BedZED,UK                                       source:https://www.bioregional.com/projects-and...

Week 1 - Smart City Case studies

Seoul  "ubiquitous city." This plan has changed people's lives in all aspects: City Life - Installs media displays on many streets and plazas that use electronic chips to reduce LED energy consumption by 26.7% The urban environment-U environment system can automatically send reminders to the public mobile phone whether it is suitable for outdoor sports. The public can query the weather changes and traffic information in real time. City Safety - Seoul uses infrared cameras and wireless sensor networks to improve the level of fire monitoring automation. Facilities Management - Managers can use wireless sensor networks to keep track of the operational status of roads, parking lots, underground pipe networks, etc., at any time.
